Allan,
Where in the world did you put 10 gallons on each side? As I've seen the inside of the wing through the wing assembly pictures, I can't see anything bigger than a few gallons in each bay, as there is torque tubes, push rods, cross supports, unless they are way outside towards the tips. Just wondering, and I would love to see your photo's if you have any of the installation.

The triangular space below the engine, in the Odyssey at least, may take
well over 15 gallons of a custom plastic tank. though with the BRS and the
gas all in the back, wonder what'll happen to it's CG. always parked nose up,
always eager to rotate?

wonder what's the minimum quantity these guys need to build a custom
plastic tank, maybe somewhat expensive initially but may satisfy most criteria

Hi
The CG is a critical factor in aircraft stability and safety. with 15
gallons in the luggage compartment under the engine, ballast would have to be
added to the nose, a lot of ballast, I could run the numbers to find out but
i would rather tell you NO don't do that, I hate to be a broken record but
the HKS eliminates the need for the extra gas. than you have a light
Buoyant and fun and safe flying plane with the HKS.

Your right Mark and I am saving my pennies.

I wonder how my wife would feel about holding on to a lap tank?

Thanks Mark, it felt so. is the left pilot position of the plastic
tank to counter the torque of the prop? there may be a flatter plastic
tank that covers most of the width behind the two seats, these modroto
type folks may have molded for someone else (something like kolb's
tank position though it's aluminium, it even has a bottom sump like
thing Fred just mentioned)

Hi Kess
I don't mean to incurage you to make a tanker out of your Gull. But there
are no cross graces in the wing and the torque tube is near the spar so
there is a fair amount of room in the wing.

But the HKS is a $9500 upgrade that I can't afford. My 10 gallon behind the seat works OK for my bladder and butt range, but a little more for places that don't have fuel would be nice. The wing tanks would free up soooo much more space for stuff to carry, but for now, I will just get the fueling outside the cockpit with an elbow and extension and call it good. And maybe a little cloth skirt to put over the tank so it doesn't look so imposing.

Hi Chess
We have made out side fills on the Gull 2000. what we did was to go through
the engine deck and use a plastic boat flip lid or screw cap in to an
aluminum tube and hoses, it is all to easy to let the weight get away from you
on this so be careful and follow Bert Routines rule, any part that you want
to put on your plane should be tested to see if it is to heavy. Drop it,
if it hits the ground it is to heavy. Hopefully you get the idea. The #1
enemy of an airplane is Weight!
Also included here are pictures of the eGull motor, this is the prototype,
27 hp 16.5# BLDC out runner.

2place Gull, yes?

Hi Alan,
Portland is a beautiful place. loved skiing on Mt. Hood and vallah no
