NW EAA FLY-IN ARLINGTON 2002
I used to send a quip to ThunderGull News about the fly-in, so
here goes.....
Soon airplane enthusiasts will be making plans to attend the
annual fly-in and convention in Arlington, Washington, in July. This
note is to tell you what a great get-together it is, and to invite
you to join us at the event in 2003!
At the 2002 convention, Earthstar had the usual booth. The Rad-
Cam engine was on display, and many people stopped by to take a look
and ask quetions. Mark's Odyssey got a lot of attention, too.
There is a bunch of "regulars" who frequent the show - Dick,
Bob, Jim, Doby, and co-builders Steve and Barry from Washington
State - Harlan from Idaho, Russ from Nevada, and Frank from Montana.
This year they were joined by Dave, who flew his Odyssey from Oregon,
and Carl, also from Washington, who who flew his new Gull 2000. Gull
owners, Allen from Arizona - Charlie and Don from California, and Roy
from Canada also visited the booth. Roy had a great time as an EAA
volunteer.
Altho most of these Gull pilots have logged lots of hours on
their Gulls, they, instead, drive to the show and spend the week in
the Camping Area, enjoying visiting with friends.
There are forums, a daily airshow, workshops, and plenty of
things to do.
Be sure and stop by the Earthstar booth and get acquainted.
It's a good time to swap flying stories and talk about Thundergulls
with designer Mark, and other builders.
