models marketed/ MV engines

Post by chilidog2178 »

OK, lets get it going. I don't have an Earthstar, but I sure like
the designs.

Does anyone know which of the models is Mark actively marketing?
I've heard that it is pretty much only the TG2000 and the Odyssey.
The JT1 & JT2's haven't been sold as a kit in awhile, but are
probably still available.

Also, does anyone know Mark's impression of the MV engines? I have
seen these engines used in a couple of planes I've seen in the mags,
but have read very little about them.

Hi,
I spent most of the week at Oshkosh this year at the Earthstar/DCC booth. I
had my J displayed at their booth and spent a lot of time talking with them
and other interested shoppers. There is still a lot of interest in the J
model, with it's extra capacity and room for a jump seat. I had made a
fiberglass belly skin for mine to slick it up so it looked more current
like the Odyssey and Gull 2000.

Joe Marshall at DCC Corp in New Jersey (609 662-7295
email:DCCCORP@a...)is manufacturing and stocking Thundergull J and
Odyssey kits on the east coast. That is where I got my J kit. He is just
getting going, so may not have everything together yet. My understanding is
that he will produce the J and Odyssey kits and Mark will produce the
Odyssey and Gull 2000 kits. I know Joe has 2 or 3 Odysseys under
construction that he plans to sale as pre-built.
