This is a little off subject but really cool.
I attached a couple links below showing how I use the iPad during flight.
The first is with my instrument simulator (Elite), it has software that connects to my iPad to show my location. I found this to be highly accurate in relation to my CDI needles and courses selected. For those of you that don't fly IFR, the VFR chart in Foreflight works great too for this. By adding some wind and turbulence you can make this more difficult than an actual instrument approach. It's a great training tool for any pilot who is looking to improve their knowledge and skills.
The second video was made a couple years ago when I first started using Foreflight.
I'm flying the Odyssey while just figuring out the Foreflight app.

So far I’ve only been using the iPad as a monitor for the GoPro camera I wear at times when flying. I’m using a knee board for the iPad, and when I’m wearing my sunglasses the screen is very hard to read. My clear glasses don’t seem to exhibit the same problem. Maybe there is a better way to mount the iPad other than on me.

I have a really old first generation iPad and polarized sunglasses. If I try to read the iPad one way (vertical) I can’t see it, but if I rotate the iPad 90 degrees (horizontal) I can read it just fine. Don’t know if this will help you but it’s cheap to try…
