OK well that makes me feel better about the prop. I could buy another different prop, I just don’t know what kind and don’t want to buy a prop that ends up not working. I know there is a certain amount of “trying” to get the right prop for the plane…

My 1946 Taylor craft on 1320 EDO floats inAlaska 1991. It had a Continental C-90 and was a good performer…

Re: dust devils
Yes, I like the heavier УCФ gear box with the rubber damper. I have an IVO ultralight 3 blade prop but it does not have the knurled plates. Still I might fly it. I also have a warp drive 2 blade prop that was on the plane when I bought it
I also have a Medium IVO prop that had the blades reconditioned but the blades are too long (66Ф) and will not clear the boom on the Gull , I would have to cut the blades . Thoses blades were intended for the HKS 700 engine install that I am also working onЕ
Maybe IVO will sell me a set of knurled platesЕ..

Re: dust devils
With the 503 use the cockpit adjustable hub because the 503 does not have a wide enough torque band to carry the pitch required for the 95 mph cruse speed. If you only have ground adjustability than you have to set the pitch to a uncomfortable compromise. And will Likely limit your cruse speed to 85 mph.

Re: dust devils
I fly my Gull 2000 with the 3-blade Ivo that has knurled plates, in-flight adjust and 68î diameter. Iím sure the plates are best knurled as Ivo decided to make that change. I would order knurled plates and use the 3-blade Ivo ultralight as the medium is waay to heavy. My hangar partner as a 3-blade medium on his 912 Titan, and it is heavy. My only issue in about 400 hours is the tiny gearbox with plastic gears. Itís been rebuilt by Ivo twice for about $90. What I like is the aggressive pitch adjust after leveling off, and makes the Gull go like stink. Back on the ground I re-pitch to fine to keep the engine from lugging while taxiing. Markís right, the best and fastest combo the Gull. Keep it light and clean and enjoy the ride (er, flight!).
