Wikipedia pages for Earthstar, Mark B. Thundergull J, JT2, 2000, Odyssey, EGull
I'd like to add some Wikipedia pages for Mark, Earthstar and his innovative and exceptional designs. I've never done any wiki work before, so the idea is a little intimidating. But, this needs to be done, for aviation history if for no other reason.
Mark and Earthstar changed the landscape of first, ultralights then light sport airplanes. The J was the first cross-country capable ultralight; Mark proved that by flying it every year (for how many years?) to all the big fly-ins all around the country.
There's no repository of information about all of these groundbreaking designs that I know of. A lot of this predated the internet so it hasn't been documented very well there.
I don't know of any information about Mark's thoughts and goals during the development of these innovative and influential designs. He's so modest and sparing with words that I fear some of this valuable information will be hard to get.
Mark are you willing to devote some time to this?
Lots of people don't realize that the Thundergull J and JT2 were the predecessor to the entire Titan line. (Making that a neutral statement was work. Was I successful?)
Mark introduced his high lift airfoil and deep chord flaps and ailerons which are still being copied today. To my knowledge all of his designs are exceptionally spin resistant. I can't get my J model to spin yet it is capable positive G aerobatics.
I need some encouragement to get this started. So how about it? Are you willing to lend me a little help?
Please reply to message if you are.

I did a sort-of bio for Mark about 2 years ago for a presentation that he gave. With his permission, we can start with that. I also worked there in the early 90's so I was around when the Titan thing happened and the J series was brand new.
I think this is a wonderful and noble pursuit...

Yes, i can help. learnt wiki for a couple weeks years ago. can relearn. some comments,
1. for first time seekers, it feels like a negative tone is being set on the wiki page. look at this image attached below, "earthstar aircraft" show up in red and the first reference note is named "cliche-1".
2. no mention of airfoil.
3. 13 references. a few less references are just fine. it's just that many of the seekers may believe in funny things. then the text also feels noisier than general.
4. airfoil name itself is mentioned in another open airfoil database at UIUC as "Earthstar Thunder Gull JX", jinxy tone being applied here.
5. titan tonado wiki page does mention that it was developed from "thundergull J". so it may feel fair&square.
6. user Ahunt moderates the "Earthstar Thunder Gull" wiki page, apart from many many plane pages over 13 years. A wiki conversation with him will be required. made an update few weeks prior to 26Jan2011, he removed it citing reference magazines in hardcopy, printed in 2001. it was about whether the wing was all aluminum or a mix of aluminum and fabric. Now the "page history" looks it was initially created on 26Jan2011, which seems incorrect, must have prior to 2008 at least.

Hmmm, found his page, "Earthstar Thunder Gull" is it's name. Sucks really
bad. Lots of errors and I'm not sure if AHunt whoever he is has ever owned
or flow a Thundergull. I couldn't find it at first since I was using
Thundergull. Even under Earthstar I couldn't find it.
I don't think this should be overthought. It isn't rocket science. Folks
can either use Hunt's page, and live with his decisions or create our own.
Just go for it. Sign up as contributors and just do something. You will
learn as you go. Wiki's generally have their own text formatting language.
That is the key thing you will need to learn. If Hunt doesn't know what he
is talking about and gets in the way, create a new page and name it
something like "Earthstar Aircraft."

P.S. If you do decide to edit his page, I'd suggest that you do your edits
in a word processor and then copy them over. That way you can use the
grammar and other features of the word processor and have a copy if hunt
decides to delete all your changes.

Thank you Mark d and Rahul.
Thanks to your encouragement, I'm starting today.
I obviously didn't do much research before writing this first post. There's a lot more to build on than I knew. And creating a new page is more difficult than I guessed.
And thank you Rahul for getting me pointed the right direction.
Rather than just blundering on, I think I need to get my ducks in a row. List of todo's
Survey and document the existing relevant pages.
Contact Ahunt
Collect Wikipedia requirements and specs.
Survey software options
Select Wikipedia tools
Develop personal education plan
Restate my specific goals
Establish myself on Wikipedia (advice?)
Figure out what I need to learn eg software, editing tools
comments, additions corrections ?
