Mark and the eGull at Arlington 2011

Post by blaswichk »

Hey guys, here is the video of Mark and the eGull flying the ultralight pattern at the Arlington Fly-in this year. The plane was a real hit, and had more activity and interest than anything else in the ultralight area. The rest of us 'N' numbered planes had to use the main GA runway, but a Titan guy and I got to fly a LSA type fly-by Saturday afternoon. I had the Gull 2000 in overdrive for a high speed pass, and had the 120mph pegged the whole time for a shock and awe flight.

Go to the "Things of Interest" folder to view the eGull flight.

Well, I hit a glitch trying to post the YouTube link or video to the "All Things of Interest" folder, as it only likes j-pegs.

Here is the url so you can go to directly, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Eqz0rS ... ure=player embedded.

Enjoy!

Hi Kess
I just went to youtube and typed in Earthstar Electric Gull 2000 at Arlington 2011
and the video came up for me.
It looks great. An hour and a half that is amazing. Do you know at what cruise speed it will get that range? I was amazed at how much noise the prop makes. They say the prop noise is half of the noise produced by a plane.

Hi Fred,
You can also go to the "Files" folder on our site and find the link there. That was the only place I could post it, as the other options I tried did the same thing to me when I tried to test open it. Glad you were able to see the video, as it was great watching him fly around and me thinking that's what I need here on the farm. We also spied a big solar panel on display at the entrance to the fly-in, and it was supplying power to a couple of booths. I told Mark we should pirate that panel and put it behind his plane to recharge his batteries. At 72 volts operating voltage, the panel would do just great.
About speeds, I think Mark says it will do 70mph, and land about 25mph. I need that plane!!
