I installed the single handle which is very easy to use. Both brakes activate evenly, and maintaining runway centerline while braking is a cinch.

I have the brake handle on my control stick where I can just extend two fingers to reach the handle. This way I still have full control of the ailerons and elevator. When touching down I can imediately apply brake pressure while controlling the ailerons.

Thanks, Gary. Makes sense for this kind of airplane. Did your Odyssey have
the heel brake "stirrups" on the rudder pedals originally? If so, did you
just take them off?

I agree, Blade. "Class Warfare" in aviation just doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, and I removed one rivet and they slide off. I have a picture in the photo section where you can see the brake lever on the front of the control stick which is centered between the two seats.

Gary, did you guys cut off the hollow axle and weld the keyed solid one supplied with the kit? Or did you fabricate another way to hold the caliper without changing the stock hollow axle? My friend with the Titan had the caliper reamed out from 5/8" to 3/4" to fit over the stepped hollow axle, then upon rotating it around, he found a hole on the flange that lined up, then used a spacer to get it to the right depth in the wheel. I'm going to try that route as soon as I receive the proper wheels. I'm thinking my spacer will be an aluminum block, drilled and tapped to get all the holes in use, and still use the standard axle that is on the airplane.

Sure, just leave the stirrups hanging. They also may feel better as you wouldn't have the opposite side riding up as you push the rudder. Another thought is to fabricate some hanging wider pedals that swing just like the stirrups.

How did you mount the lever? It won't fit straight back behind the grip, as the curvature of the stick is in the way. I found that rather than have it to one side, I mounted it straight back, as there is plenty of room left for full aft stick. I haven't tried it yet with full fluid pressure, as I'm still waiting for my wheels that got miss-shipped again.

Ahhh, now I know. It's on an Odyssey that has a much straighter stick than the single seat Gull 2000 that has a big whoopee in it to give full aft stick clearance.
