Insturment panel

Post by hashbang@gmail.com »

Does anyone have a CAD file or dimensions for the shape of the instrument panel? This would help me for planning.

Mark,
Do you sell these pieces?

I'd like to change some instruments out, and probably need a new panel.

Thanks
Joel

Joel, I'm sure Mark will sell you a blank panel. I think he will be back
from vacation soon.
I only reply to point out that much of the panel layout is limited by the
cross tube behind it, as well as the slope of the glare shield.
As a result, my panel ended up looking a little chaotic. The only place to
mount my tablet (moving sectional) was in the center. I wanted the radio on
the left, so that I could keep my right hand on the stick. Since I took
this photo, I have added a little stop watch / timer in the corner above
the EFIS.
Send us a photo of your work in progress!

Also please note that Martin is showing a Gull 200 panel. The Gull J series is different as is the Odyssey.

Ah, I should have mentioned that this is for my Odyssey.

I should have known that. Obviously, you have a lot more panel real estate
to work with. Still, please keep us in the loop about your panel redesign.

In other news, I flew my eGull for the first time this season yesterday.
Will post a longer review in a few days, when I have more data.

One question to the forum: There are always topics that interest all of us,
and I enjoy reading about them all (like panel layout). But sometimes I
wonder if I should post to the entire forum when I am writing about
something eGull-specific, like the electric power train or charging. Maybe
I should include "eGull" in the subject line, so you can screen?

The panel here is most likely intended as a reference, i guess.

As far as I'm concerned, post away. The eGull is a Thundergull, and with 15
years, many of us will be flying electric airplanes. -Alan
