Re: Havin' fun
This shows a JT that was retrofitted with what will be the standard eGull
powertrain: 40kW Zero motor with Zero controller, etc, and Zero batteries.
This one has the 170 lb 11.4kWh single, mine will have 2 45lb 2.8kWh, for
around 40 minutes duration and even more nimble handling due to the lower
weight. (There is room for a 3rd) Also part of the powertrain is a 1:2.5
belt reduction, using the same carbon fiber tooth belt as Zero. I think
this one also has the 3-blade Aerolux prop (ground adjustable) I will be
using.
Mark pays much attention to aerodynamics (see the tuft strips on the
controller/motor fairing) and noise. Note that he is flying without helmet
or headset. Current Gulls have full fiberglass cabins, which provides a
more aerodynamic shape for cleaner airflow into the prop disk.

Re: Havin' fun
I saw the video, and it looks really good. I couldn’t tell which wing was on it, a standard 20’ wing as equipped as it appeared to be to me, or a 24’ wing. Definitely didn’t seem to be the 28’ soaring Gull wing. ( maybe it’s time for my Gull to go electric! )

Loved it; some footage seemed clipped when the eGULL went vertical for a few seconds... wonder how high can it climb that way
so looking forward to a twin motor eOdyssey too, soon
