Gull Electrical
This is a 503 DCDI with a GrandRapids EIS. The other day I got a red light at maybe 5500 rpm and before thaton final with about 4000RPM (this is throttle back to close on descent). Thevoltage displayed was about 10.5 or such. Seems the EIS is set at about 11 (Idid not set up the parameters for the EIS.) About 6 months ago similar happenedand I cleaned the connections for each of the four wires on the VoltageRegulator and the “red light” situation went away. Any ideas or experience likethis? When parked, engine off the EISshows 12.5. I don’t know if the EIS is reading the battery or the engine(alternator) output when I am in the air. The VR is Key West.

Re: Gull Electrical
I have a digital voltmeter on the panel. Engine off 12.5V, at idle or in cruise, 13.8-14.1V Mine also is the Key West, second one now, 1st one lasted about 9 years. before that one was the original black one that put out 19V and fried the battery. If it jumps up and down check connections for snugness and wire splices are tight.
