Subject: Repairing long spark plug boot terminal
To: <HKS-engines@yahoogroups.com>
When removing my spark plug boots to inspect my spark plugs, the terminal
in the long boot failed. The connector to the plug came out. See the
attached photos.
HKS no longer sells the spark plug wire leads, the new coil units appear to
be integrated, so the only way to get a new spark plug boot is to buy the
coil (at $400 for a new coil (emoji for OMG, that's expensive here)).
Needless to say, that does not enthuse me.
Has anyone repaired the spark plug terminals in the long boot (the one that
fits into the top of the cylinder)? Or, have you replaced the boot with an
aftermarket equivalent (such as the NGK CR4 Spark plug wire and boot)?
