Folding wing Thundergull

Post by fgayford »

Take a look on Barnstormers, search Thundergull.
There is a plane for sale that looks like a JT2 and was folding wings.
It is new to me. Perhaps Mark could give us a history of the plane. I sure looks interesting.

Just spoke with Mark. According to him, it is an early "F" type (folding wing) and looks to be pretty much unmodified since its build in the late 80's. I am currently talking with the owner about its purchase. Has a 447 inverted and no flaps...just full length ailerons. No cantilevered wing of course. Type "F" were made with 24-28' wingspan (which I kind of like...considering no flaps)

Just joined the list in anticipation of my purchase. Any suggestions to look for when I look it over this week?

Thanks

Bob
