Earthstar Support & Service

Post by gjcarter34 »

I have been restoring my Odyssey over the winter. Whenever I needed advise Mark was usually around to take my call and offer his help. I also nave ordered various items for the plane and would have them within a week but most of the time within two days. That's great service considering I live in NY.

I've instructed in many GA planes since 1990 and a few ELSA aircraft.
The Earthstar is by far the most enjoyable and best flying plane I have ever flown. Being an instructor I have always brushed up on my slow flight, stalls, lazy eights and so on, this plane performs these maneuvers with ease and safely, always leaving me with a smile. Mark is setting me up with a new Odyssey kit which I will be installing the HKS turbo on. I hope to start work on it this spring and maybe have it flying in 2012.

Just wanted to offer my two cents.

Gary,

Glad to hear you like the way the Odyssey flies. I'm a fan of this aircraft although I have never even sat in one. Hopefully I will be getting a ride this season.

What do you mean by restoring your Odyssey? My assumption is that all these Earthstar models are being kept inside a hanger and have not been around long enough to need restoration.

Thanks, Skot

Skot,

I removed the old paint and gave it a new paint job, I have a few pictures under the photo's tab. I also installed new fabric, carpet and windows. I removed the two 10 gallon bladder wing tanks and am installing the standard plastic tank behind the seat. The bladder tanks are rated for 6 years maximum before they should be replaced. Anything else that needed attention to make the plane in new condition I did. The Earthstar's hold up very well with time as I found out by going over the entire aircraft.
I had a good experience that will be beneficial when I start building the new one this Spring.

Be careful, if you fly one, you'll buy one.
