E.I.S fuel guage

Post by fgayford »

My fellow Gullsters
Just thought I would pass this along.
I have a E.I.S. with the capacitance fuel guage.
As I mentioned earlier I equat the reading numbers on the E/I.S to actual gas remaining. Not 75 on the guage meaning 3/4 tank 50 meaning 1/2 tank and 25 meaning 1/4 tank. So I know that a full tank on my setup reads 99 on the guage and 34 means 1/2 tank and 10 means 1/4 tank which is 2 1/2 gallons remaining.
I tested the accuracy again yesterday.
I flew till the E.I.S read 10. which should be telling me I am at 1/4 tank and at 2 1/2 gallons.
When I checked I was amazed at the accuracy. The fuel level was right on the marked line on the tank. Not above the line or below the line.
Its right on 1/4 tank 2 1/2 gallons remaining. So I trust the thing and will count on it in the future.Kess you should see if yours does the same.
Enough said.

Thanks, Fred.

I think that I will order the sensor. That's a good idea referencing whatever the numbers say as long as they are consistant. Mine has the fuel flow option, which has been fun to fine tune for the least fuel burn. My next project is to fit the new 140mph ASI that I bought at Sun-n-Fun. It's a 3 1/4 inch size that will be replacing my 2 inch size with a bit of filing and juggling. I've been charged with fine tuning my airspeed with the GPS so my buddies can fly alongside and get their correct airspeeds. Nobody has done calibration runs like I have, and their claims are wild. We'll see who's speed is really the real deal.
