D-motors
According to Doc Bailey of D-motors USA ,they are installing two of their motors on an Air-cam which has the same bed mount and pusher configuration as the Earthstar Odyssey and Thundergulls.
Should give great performance plus fuel burn at cruise for these engines
is about 3.2 gallons / hour

Re: D-motors
If Lockwood Aviation is going to try these on AirCam’s, should be interesting, as they will be replacing Rotax 912’s. Now if they didn’t cost 17 big ones, I would get in line.

Re: D-motors
Hi Carl
You have a JT2 with a 912?
If that is right do you have any pictures you could post. The more the better. Did you have to make many changes to make this engine work. How do you like it?
Thanks
Fred

Send me your email and phone number and I'll text the pictures

The 912ul is a perfect match for this plane. Earthstar built
the 150mph wing and the nose has added lead attached to the frame
plus in the nose gear to compensate for additional weight
It is a 93 model and have owned it since 2006

Re: D-motors
A Crosley Cobra weighs 59lbs without starter /generator [which may weigh more than the engine].
I just loved to watch the Crosley "Hotshot roadsters scoot about when i was a boy, But then i owned 2 Nash Metropolitans.
Sorry to bother you with this trip down memory lane but they are the "cutest" little engine;and believe it or not they were used in some old A/C and speedboats along with Ford V8 sixties that had partial sheet metal blocks for lightness.I put one in an old MG.
OH! and thanks everybody for the flap handle discussions and info.
