582 Starter Replacement

Hi Again Guys,

I am having to replace a bad starter this weekend with a new GPL HD starter motor from CPS/Aircraft Spruce.

My question is: No where in any of the Rotax manuals can I find instructions for the removal or installation of a starter motor... I am familiar with replacing starter on other engines... but no experience with replacing one on a 582... are there any precautions, or special instructions, do's/don'ts for a starter replacement in the 582?

Hi John..
I suggest you contact LeadingEdge AirFoils in Wisconsin. They are a big Rotax dealer.
Ask for Patrick in the Engine Shop. LEAF rebuilt my Bing64 Carbs earlier this month and were really super to work with. If Patrick is not in, then Brett, the shop manager, may be.
