trailering & Ron C.

Post by ansieman »

Word of advice from someone who learned the hard way. If you wrap
your cockpit while trailering, put some cotton towels or sheets under
the wrap, or you'll end up with scuffed plastic wherever the wrap
touches the plastic. I ruined all new plastic when I used a plastic
tarp. Would rather have had the bugs and rock nicks.

Ron, you've had a lot of planes. Do you keep in touch with groups
for all of them? Or just the ones you wish you still had?

Not all of them, for sure. I like the TG group because the
members aren't the long winded type who post a bunch of worthless
stuff and argue about nothing. I guess if you have tastes for a
plane with class it shows in your demeanor, sort of like a group
of classic car owners. There's nothing to argue over, just relate
wonderful experiences in a wonderful plane.

Most of my attention to on-line groups is related to motorcycles,
including touring, off road, and racing. Sort of like going back
to my roots I guess. Many of us UL drivers are ex-cycleheads,
aren't we? When I started ULs in 1982 it just seemed like a natural
'next step' after a bike. However, my interest in them has never faded.

Enjoy the flight,

Ron

I used about 10 rols of saran wrap. We had no problem with scuffs.

Hey. I represent that remark...:-) I just don't do it here... Fly-UL is the
place to do it. :-) It's much more fun being moderated there... :-)
