J model

My hangar partner is in the market for a Thundergull and has been
looking at a couple of J model Thundergulls.

First: Do any of you on this group know of any Thundergulls for sale?

Second: Once he finds the bird of his choice we more than likely
will be trailering the bird back home. Does anyone have advice,
instructions or a how to manual regarding taking the wing off a
Thundergull?

Third: Any pointers of inspection items that we should pay
particular attention to in inspecting a Thundergull ultralight?

Thanks in advance for the info.

There was recently a J model gull for sale in Oregon. I'm not
sure if it sold yet. Also saw one in Pennsylvania a while back.
I am building a Gull 2000 and have had the wing on and off
several times. Not a big deal. You need 2 people. Pull the four
wing mount bolts, disconnect the two flap push-pull rods(2 bolts)
and remove one bolt for aileron push pull tube. One person on each
wingtip can easily lift the wing free and carry it over the front
of the plane.
To inspect one for possible purchase, I would check the integrity
of the rivets and overall workmanship. Check all bolts and hardware
closely (in place, tight, AN grade, no corrosion, etc.) Many things
to look at. Not a bad idea to have an experienced builder or an
EAA technical counselor look at it with you if possible.

Don't bother to spam me because it isn't part 103 compliant,
I'm not totally nutz. I am selling this plane because I am a

building 14 WW-l Nieuport-ll 7/8 scale fighter planes which are nearly
completed. I can't have both.
