My plane wasn't built from a kit. My understanding from Mark is that the guy
who built most of it was from California, close to Marks shop. He purchased
the parts and built it from drawings I guess. Mark said it was built in his
shop allot. I guess the "kit" would have been 1990 or so vintage.
It wasn't finished until a week ago last Sunday though :-).
I looked for an used Odyssey for a long time, but never came across one.
I've since found out why. Mark told me that he handles allot of brokering of
Odyssey's. They never seem to hit the open market. I like my bird, but am
really more interested in an Odyssey. I like the more "side by side"
seating, and the dual controls. Mine only has single controls, even though
it's a two seater.
I'll probably sell this one in a year or two and try to find an Odyssey. I
really want to teach my son to fly.

I'm a bit confused about the J2. I called Earthstar a few months ago
and the guy I talked to (not Mark) indicated that they haven't sold a
J or J2 kit in a long time. He seemed to "push" the 2000 or
Odyssey. I assume you bought your kit used. If you don't mind me
asking, how long ago you think your kit was made?
