stabilator hinge

Hi Mark, My stabilator hinge has too much forward and backward play. I've
been tightening my rudder cables but they seem to be stretching. Need a
better solution.
Do you recommend replacing "horizontal stabilator hinge brackets mounted to
tail boom" ?
If so, I'd like to get them ASAP. So I can get back in the air. My plane is
an '86 Thundergull J with 20' wings, and 5" boom tube.

Hi Dave
How much play or movement do you have at the tip of the stabilator?
I have not herd of ruder cable stretching?
Is there something bending in your control arm? Or ware on the nylon comb?
For the play on the stabilator hinge, the easiest fix is to use a close tolerance bolt.
Happy Flying,
Mark

OR...
Just order these from Wicks. Spruce is out of them and no idea when available.
Cut small holes on the underside of your stab to fit a wrench on the nut. Patch with sail repair tape from Spruce.
I just bought some of the AN45 bolts. You might need a couple of thick AN washers cuz the grip length is a little long.
