Martin: If you wait a few months the new ZF 14.4 battery should be available for 2018.Longer range , durability, increased energy density would be worth the wait. Carl

Hi carl
I can get that now but it is a lot more expensive to by a new one than a used 2016 out of a wrecked bike. That has 13 kWh.
Budget constraints dictate what one should buy.

Yeah, that would be sweet. But given a finite (mostly self-imposed) budget,
the sweet spot appears to be last year's technology, from a wreck. Even
then, it took some explaining to avoid my wife's veto. But the main reasons
that I don't want to wait are that I am having problems with my current
setup, and that I don't want to go another season with the limited range.
Maybe I should look for a sponsor...

What gravimetric energy densities are they promising?
Anything above 260 watt-hour per kg including the controllers ?

Mark,
which bike is this? saw a fireman's all grey iron883 for sale on craigslist last year, still on my mind.
wish there are less wrecked bikes of any type anywhere. my 12yo royal enfield, found a few scary bugs this year, including a hammered "rim" of the rear wheel that made it just a little wobbly, and a few attempts by others to induce a slip on city turns. laki i found them in time, i just stick to 4wheels these days..
what's a #sideshow in vehicle trafic management? oakland cops issue tickets for them, but i can't figure what it means, despite having driven fairly well in the states.
