There are many exciting battery innovations on a 2 year + time frame to commercial application. But Tesla's plans may seriously hinder these new technologies' entry to the market place.

One interesting development, but possibly never to be seen, is a new type of flow battery from MIT labs now a start-up called 24-M. 10x energy density vs present. And, as a plus factor...They don't explode. :-)

PS- I called Beetron in Switzerland a couple of times...no answer. So I wrote an email to inquire about the time frame for having their power unit available for sale. Will advise of any reply. Thanks to Rahul for scouting out this really interesting device.



Unfortunately, it seems to be our fate to wait.
