Allan,
Thanks for your sharing of battery info. I just did some math on the gas
used for the 503 for 500 hours of flying. At $3.50 a gallon, and 4
gallons/hour, that's about $7,000. If the lipo's can last 500 hours, and be replaced
for $7,000, that's not a bad deal right now. The cost of the electric
motor is probably less than a new 503, and at 500 hours, it doesn't need a
rebuild. Hmmmmmm................. . . . . .

The price of gas is going up fast. A battery pack for the egull is about
$3000 and going down faster than the price of gas is going up.

Things are shaping up for a rebirth of our transportation power systems.

Just keep in mind the 2 different airspeeds, if your flying is with the
purpose of going from point A to point B, and not a flight around the patch
Other than that, I agree wholeheartedly

Jaime,
About 90% of my flying is round robin. We fly out to local fly-ins as an outing, and if I can do that in the range of battery charge? Most of my flights are for 20-60 minutes, and then back to bullshitting and working on planes. Works for me!!

Hi Jamie
I believe you are referring to the power available from electric is not any
were near the power available from gas related to the mass at the present
time. This is a fact. There are a lot of really smart people working on the
problem and whenever that happens major brake through follow.

That's what most of my friends and I do..... local fly-ins, $100 dollar
hamburguers, and spend the night with beer and lots of BS :-)

It would work for me too, but some pilots might be misled, if not warned

Dramatically reduced noise, smell, maintenance, etc

Improved reliability

Great !
