wonder how many pounds of glue and rivets does an eGull need?

Curious if some weight could be reduced with something like this? Dan even shows a hinge made with nitinol, wonder where could one apply nitinol in a plane?

I think that spot welding would compromise the repair capability that drilling out rivets affords. Nobody wants to have to fix bent metal, but, . . . . . . . . if something happens it’s a welded assembly that would have to be taken apart.

Great youtube's!
As he said, spot welding not advised for aluminum due to high heat dissipation and surface oxidation.
And 2024-T4 aluminum is not weld able with satisfactory results.
Happy flying

Yes, a noisy neighborhood making flimsy construction enhancements that violate building codes openly, makes for double the studying; like your facility, no one around for miles

Mr. Choudhary...
Please, excuse me.... but your post below is impossible to understand, very unhelpful and, in my view, oddly insulting to Mr. Beierle. Please consider the purpose of this forum. Please do try to be relevant. This is not an anything - everything forum for electrical engineering / design or materials science research. Off track and odd comments also do not serve well.
This is a forum for and about Earthstar Aircraft. How to build these wonderful airplanes. How to maintain them well. How to fly them safely. An oblique reference to rivets and glue does not automatically assure relevance. Nonetheless, this topic received two very courteous and reasonable responses.
Please do consider your purpose here. Thank you, sir.

I whole heatedly agree with RMM. There are way too many inappropriate posts on this site, please do us all a favor and keep it relevant. We are not interested in your rumblings.

Dear R. Michael Moore (Roger...),

Thank you. hardly any oblique reference, satisfying my curiousity, that's all. Maybe I ought to have been more verbose in praising Mark's manufacturing facility, love the way it is built up on a hilltop, feels very safe

Best regards, Sir
