wonder what would an FAA inspector say to a GPS based ASI
looking fwd to a good study and tinker time, GPS or/and Galieo

With my Garmin 360 Car Gps the dealer said there was an external antenna that I could buy for it but that I really should not need it.
I have had no reception problems in my car or plane with just the flip up antenna on the unit.
The external antenna was just a flexable wire about foot and a half long. I don't know, but does the iphone have a port for an external antenna? If so it would be easy to lay it up on the dash some where. Just a thought.

passive antennas mostly help to catch all visible satellites where the
cockpit can limit the handheld
the problem is multipath reflections(accuracy) and signal gain, all these
devices big or small are fine
a world of chokering antennas/gps for aviation scales a few hundred to an
Odyssey for cm accuracy
iphone has no external antenna ports, gps addon devices give data to apps
via the 30 pin connector
something like a bad-elf with mems, with an antenna port that also gives
power to a little dome uptop
until then, it's back to base, sky charts pro, offline planners. no wonder
antenna design is a black art
maybe i could call a senior friend, he knows how to tinker with funny shaped
copper plates and wires
but he'll only kick my butt for another wildgoose chase, and then i've been
silly enough to tease him..

Hi Rahul
I found a picture of a Thundergull on skis. The owner lives in Quebec Canada. I uploaded the picture to the Photo section in the folder called "Factory Support" last picture.
