That plane is Molt Taylor’s Mini-Imp, and is powered with a VW conversion or Continental 0-200, and on 100 hp was able to go over 200 mph. He was also working on the Micro-Imp that was supposed to be 250 lbs empty, but wound up being about 420 lbs. He used a Renault 2CV engine of about 17-18 hp in an airplane, and it did need more power. Unfortunately the lightweight powerful engines we have today were not around, and the plane never was produced. There is a CD available that has drawings and pictures that could be reverse engineered to produce a similar looking plane. A bit radical for a Gull copy, and I’m happy with what I have for now.

so, that's why a 2 place imp is yet to be. that engine seems to weigh more than an aero steam engine in 1933. wonder why that did'nt get popular? http://www.flyingkettle.com/besler6.htm

a steamer built today could actually be the lightest ever and even easier on the fuel. no sound, seems a pilot could be heard from 200ft up in the air, land within a 100 ft with prop in reverse as brakes
