Thanks Kess
Your right all the little things could add up to a big improvement. Just like the streamlining you have done for speed improvement.
Just a thought here. I am going to remove the mic on my db meter and add a 8 ft shielded extention cable to it.Perhaps I can get it to become directional.(small dish )
Then I could mount it pointing at specific places. Then it would be possible to map the hot spots.
Who knows we may be surprised where the most noise is radiating from.
What do you think?

Sure, that will be fun to try. I did notice on my video camera that the sound recorded changes pitch and intensity when the camera is panned. I wear headphones even taxiing, because my drum brakes squeak really loud, and I've even scuffed up the drums and shoes with sandpaper, only to have the squeak come back. That's another upgrade on my list to install disc brakes.

Hi Kess
For squealing brakes take a hacksaw to your brake pads and cut grooves all along the shoes. Not too deep (a third the way through.) Make the grooves at 45 degrees and space them at about 1/2 an inch between grooves. Do this for the whole shoe.
This worked well on our Trials bikes.
