Two years was Carpenter's guess.

Mark's current battery pack is built-in and weighs 170 lbs.

Don't know. System is from Zero bicycle manufacturer. He said he's planning a different. Battery installation that will allow quick-change battery pack units. Now has to recharge battery pack in place.

Hi
Mark is using Zero Battery's and they are LiNcO It is a type of Lithium
Ion, If I used the LiFePo4 I would have 1/2 the range, and fly for only 1/2
hr. one of my flights at Oshkosh was over 1;10.
Don't worry to much about that misinterpretation of FAR 103. Fly safe and
keep out of controlled airspace. That's what I have been told.

Aerovolt    Lifepo4   is 336 watts  at 3  lbs  .  24 batteries is   72 lbs  and 8040 watts.   If a cruise  speed is   72 volts at  50amps   that's  2 +  hours of flight  at a much lighter load.     I cant find info on LiNcO  batteries?  Litium iron  should only be  14.4 % lighter  but  far safer.   I m just  very interested in  the  Egull plane to fly around southern Illinois outside of controlled space .    Ed

The 336 rating on your Battery is probably cranking amps, this would not be
the hr rate witch would probably less, Would you check this for me,

If we were to use as little as 74 v we would need at least 100 A to cruse
if the battery were light.

I actually  multiplied wrong  It is  a 13.2 volt battery  at 28 amps of storage   or 380 watts .  The cranking amps are 500 amps.  But Ive spent the morning updating my  files  on the new Batteries  and  there is some interesting  up sizing going on.   I want to verify  some of the data.   So  Cruise speed  requires  approximately  7000  watts  . A  2 hour  flight  needs  14000 watts  plus taxi and  takeoff .      Ed
