Well Thursday came and went with a dead fly-in. Some unexpected rain came in and put a damper on everything. Mark is probably holed up en-route watching all this northwest weather, but I will call him for sure in the morning.

it started raining buckets here too, monsoons. does Mark yoozly get to Arlington from Santa Margarita as the crow flies? He could be at the Russian flat grass airstrip in Montana for all i know, looks like a nice place.

It seems all you have to do to make it rain is schedule a aviation event.
Oshkosh last year.
Sun n Fun this year.
Our UPAC convention last year.
Hope things clear up for you guys.

Well Friday is here, and so is the rain, and it is mostly north of Seattle, (where we are), and like Fred said, airshows are like rain magnets, like pouring concrete or washing cars that always suck in weather from miles away. Anyways. Mark is here, safe and sound, as he got in last night about midnight, towing his trailer with the e-Gull in it. The weather is supposed to get better today so we can have an airshow tomorrow. I will take pic's as the flying gang gets bigger.

I was wondering how he would recharge the eGull enroute. I'll bet he's a whole lot better than me removing/reinstalling wing and trailer. Hope I never have to do that again.

wish the sun shines through soon there. a live webstream would've been cool too. saw the STS-135 launch webstream from T minus 2 minutes, that was good. well, the glint of the swirl (inconel leading edge)? came out nicely too in the previous photo.

I called Mark yesterday morning, and he had arrived at Arlington at midnight with trailer and eGull. Yesterday was nice, and today, summer is back.

What a fine day Saturday turned out to be, lotsa airplanes, lotsa people looking at airplanes, and Marks eGull was quite a conversation item. He did several demo flights off the ultralight runway, as the eGull is quite ultralight legal in speeds and weight. I had my Gull 2000 parked with Mark's plane to demonstrate how an ultralight can grown into a proper LSA airplane with faster speeds and higher weights than ultralights. I even got an award from the judging crew for workmanship and extra's. We even did a high speed fly-by off the main runway for the crowd. Mark is heading back home to start his preparation for Oshkosh.

Now Saturday and Sunday came and went with good weather. There were lotsa airplanes, lotsa people looking at airplanes, and lotsa, lotsa camper RV's and trailers. Our type fly-by shrunk down to my hangar mate flying his Titan 1, and me in the Gull 2000. The Richland gang of three didn't show, and two of our resident Titans didn't go, and the Canadian showed up late in his Titan 2 with a broken exhaust manifold pipe on the 912. We still had fun, and have set the stage for a type fly-by next year, as they liked this one.
