Mark D, I have a handheld radio, less than 2 years old. Got it while
trouble-shooting my Flightline comm radio (which is OK now). Willing to let
it go at half of new. Let me get the particulars when I get home tonight.
I use a simple Android tablet running Avare - works well, full featured, no
complaints, and free!

Yes let me know. I need just a plain ole radio….mainly to listen for other traffic.

This is Steve in Iowa. I had a Sporty's handheld with an external antenna
that I would recommend to you. Some handheld radios have a very small
display and very tiny buttons which makes it frustrating to use, think of
that when you look at one! Steve

Thanks Steve, I will. I've heard other pilots tell me the same thing
